SCC 2013 setup instructions/details

Greets everyone! This is the email you've been waiting for with further details and setup instructions for the 7th annual Spokane Comicon on Saturday June 1st. 

Location:
Spokane Community College
Building 6 - The Lair Student Center
1810 N Greene St
Spokane, WA 99217

Driving Directions:
From I-90 Eastbound:
  1. Take the Thor/Freya St. exit.
  2. Turn left at Freya St.
  3. Continue traveling north on Freya St. Freya becomes Greene St. at Mission Ave. The SCC campus is located at the intersection of Greene St. and Mission Ave. You may enter the campus from Greene St. or from Mission Ave.
From I-90 Westbound:
  1. Take the Thor/Freya St. exit.
  2. Turn right at Freya St.
  3. Continue traveling north on Freya St. Freya becomes Greene St. at Mission Ave. The SCC campus is located at the intersection of Greene St. and Mission Ave. You may enter the campus from Greene St. or from Mission Ave.
Parking: is FREE all day on Saturday for the show on campus. 

Food/Concessions:
This year we are excited to have local food trucks come and camp out in the parking lot during the show. We are still in discussions with a variety of food trucks but we are confident we'll have more than two to choose from. In addition we'll have some basic concessions inside the show by the gaming section. The local student clubs will be selling Soda, Candy, Chips etc. 

Lodging:
If anyone is still looking for local lodging in Spokane there are plenty of affordable places to stay. We currently have two sponsored local hotels that offer a 20% discount for exhibitors. All the details can be found on our site. http://spokanecomicon.webs.com/lodging.htm

Table Placement: 
Please see attached PDF for show floor layout and table placement. All table placements were filled on a first come first served basis and placed as seen fit by the event coordinators. 

Setup:
Exhibitors can set up between the hours of 7:00am-10:00am on Saturday June 1st, 2013. 
During the set up time you are welcome to cautiously drive your vehicle up on the large sidewalk (watch for fans) that leads up to the main entrance of Building 6 for your convenience. We ask that you do not take longer than 15 minutes to get your vehicle unloaded and moved back to the free parking lot to be courteous to others who need to unload. We also ask that all vehicles be moved to the free parking lot by 9:30 am in which by that time there will be 300+ people in line. It's safe to say we can have up to 6 vehicles at a time unloading near the entrance if need be.

The show hours of operation are from 10:00am-5:00pm. Please note in our best efforts to get attendees through the doors as quickly as possible we will start letting people in as early as 9:45am so plan accordingly. 

When you enter the main entrance please check in at the Admissions/Will Call table to let them know you are here. A volunteer will also be available to show you to your table if you not clear where you are based on the attached floor plan. If you've attended our show in the past the floor plan is the same as years past. If you require an additional badge(s) the cost is $5 each at the Admissions/Will Call table. 

During set up you are welcome to a few extra people to help unload before the show starts  but if they choose to stay they will need to purchase an extra badge. Also during your setup please be aware of your displays and signs as to not impose on your neighbors space to the best of your ability. In addition if you using an extension cord that it is properly secured to the floor to prevent any tripping hazards. Please take a moment and review the "terms and conditions" of your dealer application for more information.

Lastly I wanted to remind everyone that all exhibitors/artists/guests are required to remain set up until the end of the show at 5:00pm PST. After that you are welcome to carefully pull your vehicles closer to the front of building to load up if need be.
